Community Panel

We're putting together a group of people with a stake in local arts and culture to inform our activities and community engagement. We are particularly interested in hearing from local creatives, young people, LGBTQ+ people, disabled people and people from global majority backgrounds. If you're interested, please contact jessie.hodges@enfield.gov.uk with a few sentences about yourself and why you're interested.

We have also enjoyed working with creative groups, charities and local organisations to deliver events and courses which support the needs of our community:

  • We've commissioned a new mural informed by engagement workshops with local residents and students from St Anne's Catholic High School for Girls and Ponders End Youth Centre
  • DAC hosts Reggae Choir rehearsals and continues to enjoy programming their performances.
  • We have run our Oral Histories: Telling Tales project with Capel Manor Primary School and Wren Academy. This project promoted intergenerational community cohesion, and was delivered in partnership with MHA, a charity supporting older people to live later life well.
56 students from Capel Manor Primary school engaged with oral histories from Enfield residents and produced artwork in response. DAC was proud to exhibit their artwork on our community wall. At the exhibition launch, students came to DAC and met Stephen, one of local residents whose stories they'd responded to.

We are able to provide discounts on our hire spaces for registered charities and CICs. Please email culture@enfield.gov.uk for more information.
