Southgate Library: Then and Now

Southgate Library was erected to the northwest of Southgate Town Hall’s main building and opened in April 1940. It was one of the largest district libraries of Middlesex County Libraries. When the current London Borough of Enfield was formed in 1965, the public library renamed to Palmers Green Library.

This display highlights just a few objects from the borough’s libraries in our collection.
